Marilyn Monroe (36D) (The 100th Post)

Some of you may wonder why it took 100 posts to finally get to Marilyn Monroe.  Years before I started this blog, I was binge-watching dozens of (mainstream) movies where sexy babes showed their assets.

 

When I got the idea for this blog, I compiled a list of about 75 ladies from those movies.  I then added Sophia Loren, Claudia Cardinale, Jill St John, Raquel Welch, and Salma Hayek, which brought me up to 80.  Those were going to be the first subjects for this blog.  

 

Along the way, I thought of some more (including Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot) and as you can see from my to-do list on this blog's sidebar, it's over 280 now. But, Miss Monroe seemed like the perfect choice for the 100th featured actress here.

What can I say about her that you don't already know?  Ok then, let's not waste any more time.

Phoebe Cates (35B)

Phoebe Cates was everybody's wet dream in the 1980s (the Farrah Fawcett craze having died down by then).

She was great in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". Who among us didn't want to be Judge Reinhold in that pool scene? 

I've only seen her in "Ridgemont High" and later in the TV miniseries "Lace", where she played a spoiled rich bitch.

Based only on the 2 photos below, I'm going to check out "Paradise".  (It sounds like a "Blue Lagoon" ripoff, with Cates and Willie Aames filling in for Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins.)

Cassandra Peterson (38D)

Cassandra Peterson (a/k/a Elvira) is a busty babe known for hosting late-night movies back in the day. (For some reason, I never watched her show.)

 

In the next 2 photos, she reminds me of a chick named Rhiana that appeared in Penthouse back in the late-1970s. (I later found out that her name was Henrietta Post, and that she appeared in "Caligula" - another movie still on my to-do list.) To this day, I remember this quote from Rhiana: "I love having my hips caressed. It makes me feel sexy and wanted."

Jennifer Lopez (34B)

Jennifer Lopez came on the scene in 1997 with her role in the movie "Selena". Since then, she's been a pleasure to behold. (That is, everything except being the start of that annoying-as-hell custom of referring to people using nicknames of  "J-Lo" and such.)

Suzanne Somers (38D)

Suzanne Somers was the prototype 1970s' ditzy blonde in her "Three's Company" role. It's well-known what a pain in the ass she became after gaining fame on "Three's Company", so I won't rehash that here, other than to say that Raquel Welch seems like a tame pussycat in comparison. 

 

Somers also appeared nude in Playboy twice - in 1980 and again in 1984. Apparently the 1980 spread was shot in 1970, when she was an unknown, hungry actress. By 1980 she was claiming publicly that she was never photographed nude, so Playboy decided to put her in her place by printing the 10-year-old photos. 

 

In 1984, she threw her righteous principles out the window and posed nude again. LOL, what a train wreck!
